To start my blog entry I would like to say this, I am aware that those who believe in animal rights, saving trees and protesting unfavorable government actions are viewed as "extremist." To clarify my position in an attempt to avoid preemptive stereotypes I will say only this: I need to see way more scientific evidence (or study more) to believe in global warming, I believe in human rights over animal rights ANY DAY, the reason I love our country is because we can ALL express our views and although saving trees is important, so is the livelihood of all people on our great earth. NOW, we can begin on a journey, with no foreseeable end, into the world of garbage reduction, wildlife protection and just helpful information in general.

I remember driving in the back seat of my mother's Ford truck looking out the window at the semi's that towered over my head. As the black smoke billowed out from the pipes I would cringe with agony at the thought of the beautiful blue sky being forever covered with this dusty black smoke. Thus began my obsession with being environmentally friendly. Now I'm not saying that I had a premonition that vehicles would be the cause of catastrophic environmental effects but maybe we humans can sense more than we realize. This week, I want to start my blogging experience with asking you to try and tap into your own environmental senses. When you use five paper towels when you only need two, does it cause a sharp sting on your conscience when you go to throw them away? When you throw away plastic bottles or aluminum cans do you feel like you have done an injustice to the world? Unfortunately for my laziness, I do, and fortunately for our great land, I do. Back to work as I'm sure everyone can relate to!!
