Hi, folks! I was out of town a few days and got back just in time to help getting ready for the "BIG EVENT" at Walmart Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (June 13th and 14th):

Walmart management is setting up a large donation box in front of the store. This will make it easy for anyone wishing to donate anything for the shelter to just bring it to the store and deposit it into the large box/crate. Some folks might want to pick up one of the many items we need while they're shopping at the store and drop it into the box on their way out.

Shelter personnel and volunteers will be on hand with kittens and cats, as well as a variety of puppies and dogs which are up for adoption to loving and caring homes.

Why don't you come and take a look, adopt a pet - or, if you have too many already, donate some of the much needed items to the shelter such as:

MONETARY DONATIONS

CAT FOOD, CANNED OR DRY

CAT LITTER, NEWSPAPERS

DOG FOOD, CANNED OR DRY

FOOD/WATER BOWLS, ALL SIZES

COLLARS, LEASHES, HARNESSES, CHOKERS

CARRIERS, CRATES, CAGES, AND PENS

BLANKETS, TOWELS, SMALL RUGS

CLEANING ITEMS, DISINFECTANTS/WIPES, LAUNDRY SOAP/BLEACH

FLEA/TICK DIPS, SHAMPOOS, CONDITIONERS

FIVE GALLON BUCKETS

GARDEN HOSES

KIDDIE POOLS

PAPERTOWELS, TOILET TISSUE

PLASTIC STORAGE BINS (FOR FOOD AND OTHER SUPPLIES)

PLASTIC TRASH CANS (WITH LIDS IF POSSIBLE)

and anything else you might think would be useful for the shelter volunteers to do justice to our animals.

We also need VOLUNTEERS TO HELP IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

BATHE, DIP, AND GROOM DOGS

FEED AND WATER SHELTER ANIMALS

TRAIN DOGS TO WALK ON LEASH

PLAY WITH ANIMALS TO GET THEM SOCIALIZED AND REHABILITATED

If you can't make it to Walmart this Friday and Saturday, you may drop off donations at the shelter at 1531 Hwy 289 N (across from IESI Landfill entrance) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mon-Sat or call the shelter office at 994-4445 to have items picked up.
