IT'S RAINING KITTENS AND PUPPIES.....Posted Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 6:25 PM
No drought in these parts, folks - at least not at the Spring River Animal Services facility at 1531 Hwy 289 North! It's been "raining" kittens and puppies all last week! Some were brought in by folks who found a mama cat with kittens out in the woods, some kittens and puppies were surrendered by owners, and yet even more puppies were found along roadsides and along our highways! This is so sad because these youngsters are so full of life, playful, happy, and a joy to watch - yet, if we don't find homes for them their future is quite dismal and heartbreaking! So, if you read this or listen to any of our three local radio stations, Spring River Animal Services personnel and volunteers are staging an impromptu adoption event at our facility this Saturday, June 28th, to find as many of these little creatures permanent and hopefully happy homes! Why don't you pack up the family and come out - who knows: You might find that perfect little one or older one for that matter; you might learn more about our facility and operations; you might find that signing up to volunteer for a few hours a week in various available capacities will bring you much joy and a change of pace in your daily routine! And, if you can - we are desperate for kitten and cat chow, cat litter, and completely out of dog collars and leashes - maybe you could help us out with some of these items? Our volunteers have made it a habit to scour garage and yard sales for items we can use for the animals - maybe you will run across a sale on your way to the shelter? PLEASE COME!!! Shelter hours: 10 am - 2 pm, Monday thru Saturday. Tel: 994-4445. |
