Surprise Surprise
Posted Sunday, August 2, at 9:52 PM
I got up early this morning, started my coffee, spoke to the cat through the door and went about my morning chores as usual. Didn't notice anything different.

Then, my son walks through the kitchen and glances out at the cat and says, "Mom, your cat has three new kittens." Talk about blowing me over. I didn't have a clue that the little mama was expecting. I was still trying to find the time to schedule her a vet appointment. So, surprise, surprise. That cat's done it again.

They're as fertile as rabbits! All cats must be fixed or the world will soon be taken over by cats. We wouldn't have to mess with rodents, I guess, but the cat hair in the air would choke us all.

So, don't do like I do and keep putting things off until the next week, or the next, or you're going to wake up some morning to a Surprise, Surprise of your own. Spade and Nueter ... ASAP.

Gone on workcation!
Posted Wednesday, June 24, at 5:43 PM

I'm on workcation. You know, one of those breaks you take from your regular job to catch up on things you've let slide at home. Yes, I will have to go back to work at my real job soon just to rest! I started with a list that kept growing to the point it finally just disappeared...

Judge not -- but we do anyway
Posted Saturday, June 6, at 11:39 PM

I know I should never judge another person and the way they may or not be living their life. I haven't walked in that person's shoes and have no idea what their life is like, or why. I guess it's human nature to "compare" others actions to our own and sometimes feel superior because we think our choices have been better than someone elses...

What's gonna dry up next?

Is it just me, or does everybody's feet start to get uglier as we age? My husband has always told me I have the ugliest feet in the world, but he's wrong. He's just trying to make himself feel better, because I know that man's feet ain't nothing to brag about!...

It's good to be a woman
Posted Monday, May 25, at 9:12 PM

My favorite time of day is early morning, when I don't have to be anywhere and can just take my time waking up and enjoying my home and the beautiful view from my deck. I like to take my coffee and sometimes a blanket and curl up in a chair and just watch and listen. The morning sounds are calming and filled with chatter of birds and squirrels starting their day...

I've turned into one of those drivers
Posted Sunday, May 10, at 9:59 PM

I'm not a road rage kind of person. Oh sure, I get irritated with my fellow drivers sometimes, but I don't get fired up the way some people do. If I'm in a hurry, I will always get behind a slow moving vehicle or a school bus making upteen stops (Murphy's Law) but, I don't scream and yell and beat the steering wheel. I just watch the clock and hope the vehicle in front of me turns ... soon...

The working family
Posted Sunday, May 3, at 9:29 PM

Have you ever noticed how comfortable co-workers get with each other? Of course, there's going to be a few you simply will never be able to like (probably because they're too much like yourself) but most co-workers not only tolerate each other -- they actually grow to like each other...

Pollen colored hair
Posted Wednesday, April 29, at 12:01 AM

There are so many changes going on in my life right now, sometimes I wonder which way is up. First of all is the change in the color of everything in my house -- everything is yellow. From the tables, to the floors, windows, furniture, appliances, and everything else in between, there is a fine layer of yellow pollen clinging to everything. ...

This one's for the girls
Posted Wednesday, April 15, at 11:06 PM

For women only OK. I went in for my yearly wellness exam today. Whoopie! Something women everywhere dread with every fiber of their body. Probably because every fiber of their body gets poke, prodded, squeazed and swabbed. I have a great doctor (a woman) I go to for these exams. She has a compassionate manner and understands this exam like a man could never understand...
