I actually made it through the busy weekend without sliding off the plan. It was hectic and I noticed myself getting a few headaches. I didn't feel hungry but after I ate a bit the headaches eased up. They say to eat something about every three hours. I can see how you need to in order to keep the blood sugar up.
The birthday party was fun and I didn't feel deprived at all. I divided my plate as directed and ended up eating all vegetables except for a tablespoon of potato salad. My husband and I shared a small piece of birthday cake, so, I think that was a success.
My daughter-in-law gave me a great idea -- especially good for evenings in front of a TV. She said to freeze the blueberries and eat them that way. They're really good and seems to satisfy the habit I have of wanting to eat something in the evenings. Another daughter-in-law said to do the same thing with grapes, but I haven't tried that yet.
A cup of hot water with a bouillon cube is another hunger eliminator for me. You can also add some vegetables to it if you want, and you have a free food soup.
My exercise was a wash-out this weekend. Too busy on Saturday and woke up to rain on Sunday. The treadmill just sat there staring at me and I just kept staring at it. I get bored real fast on the treadmill so it will take some encouragement to keep getting on it. Maybe it'll stay beautiful and cool so my dog and I can walk in the evenings.
I still feel and look overweight, but I'm beginning to notice a few changes in the way I look at food. I think dividing the plate into sections makes more sense than anything I've heard. And, it's easy to follow. My husband is using that as a guide and has added protein shakes to his daily menu. Knowing him, he'll lose weight 5-times faster than I will, but then, he has a whole lot more to lose than I do so guess it's OK.
I just realized I forgot to eat my salad for lunch. The good thing about that is I can eat it anytime today I want. I like this plan. And .... the lemon cake and chocolate cake are absolutely wonderful! Later .... Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

A good book to read is the one by Mike Huckabee. 'Stop Digging Your Grave With A Knife and A Fork'.
Also, eat lots of whole grains. Almonds are good, but make sure they are not roasted. Any fresh fruit or fresh vegetables are good too. Whole grains and protein will fill you up without adding a whole lot of calories. Don't do diet soda. It only makes you eat more. Drink water with some lemon in it.
As far as the treadmill, find something you like to listen to. Like a Focus on the Family broadcast or something that you know takes about 30 minutes. Listen to that while you are on the treadmill and the time will FLY past.
If you don't have a dog, get one and take it for lots of walks. Dogs love to walk and that too will take your mind off of 'exercising'.
Good luck and don't give up. You will feel better and your aching joints will thank you for it.
Hello, so how is the diet? I don't see any more postings here so I believe maybe you have become discouraged.
If this is the case, I may have some strategies for you:
Get a cat, before you eat, feed the cat. The cat will gag, and you will have to clean it up, feed it rich chunky foods. Good appetite suppressant.
If you do not have the variety of cat that gags, when you reach your hungriest point, clean the litter box. Works for me.
I have a treadmill too, it works well for hanging damp clothing. When the damp clothing dries, hang the clothing there that waits to be ironed.
In order for you to use the treadmill, you will have to iron clothes first.
The best place for the bathroom scale is immediately under the toilet plumbing.
This way you will not want to move it even with your toe.
A new and refreshing look for your mirrors would be to drape all of your fine scarves over the left and right corners. Color combinations work best. Your home will suddenly look brighter and happier and designer-ish. You also will only be able to view a small amount of the middle of your body.
You see, you already look thinner
I have found these tips have worked well for me, and I hope you begin posting again with even more enthusiasm.
