SUCCESS: The Spring River Chamber of Commerce and the Quad Cities Rotary Club celebrate the success of the Spring River Open Golf Tournament at a joint meeting at Deep Creek Catfish on May 20.

The Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce and the Quad Cities Rotary Club of Sharp County joined forces to sponsor the Spring River Open Golf Tournament on May 17-18.

There were 36 teams participating in this event held at the Cherokee Village South Golf Course. Coordinators for this event were Melissa Smith of King-Rhodes and Associates Real Estate, Joel King of Pulaski Bank and David Webb, Cherokee Village Golf Pro.

Winners in the championship flight were: 1st: Daniel Taylor, Matt Dillenger, Kermit Blevins; 2nd: Preston King, Willie Little, Blake Rogers; 3rd: Dan Mace, Dennis Rogers, Crain Thoren.

In the first flight, winners were: 1st: Troy Bartels, Scotty Hunter, Brian Smith; 2nd: Larry Kissee, John Kissee, Mike Ramsdell; 3rd: Mike Gooch, Josh Gooch, Brad Rega.

In the second flight, winners were: 1st: Nile Thrasher, Tim Thrasher, Roddy Thrasher; 2nd: Jeremy Cooper, Rick Fowler, Dave Cooper; 3rd: Bob Gibson, Willis Johnston, Barry Posey.
