AHTD to hold public meeting

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Meeting in Ash Flat to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 167, according to AHTD officials.

Plans call for widening one mile of Highway 167 (N. Ash Flat Drive) to five lanes in Ash Flat. The project would extend from the intersection with Highway 412 southward to Highway 354.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 11 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ash Flat Community Center. The Center is located at 20 Arnhart Street in Ash Flat.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments. For more information, contact the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department's Environmental Division at 501-569-2281.

Why would it needed to be widened in that area.
