If the number of new businesses opening in the area is any indication to the state of the economy, the Spring River Area is experiencing growth. This week a record four Blue Ribbon Welcomes were conducted in Sharp County by the Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce.
Wednesday, the chamber welcomed the Frontier Motor Lodge Motel on Bowman Hill outside of Hardy. The motel is family owned and operated by Richard and Diane Schuldheisz. The motel offers a free continental breakfast, free Starz and Encore channels, Wi-Fi services and a fax and copy service. Diane previously worked in Las Vegas at Hampton Inns and has lots of experience in offering her customers the hospitality they deserve. The motel has eight rooms decorated in old country style.
June 11, the chamber welcomed two new businesses to downtown Hardy. The Garlic Rose offers Italian food including pizza, pastas, soups and salads, many available in lunch portions. The recipes are old Italian recipes handed down from James LoSapio's great-grandfather and are truly authentic.

The restaurant is owned by Laura and Ernest Erwing, Ashley Bryant and James LoSapio and Justin Bryant.
LoSapio has 25 years experience in the restaurant business and has 11 restaurants in the Memphis, Tenn., and Southhaven, Miss., area.
Laura said, "We just wanted to open this to give Hardy something different." The Garlic Rose accepts reservations, can also cater parties and meetings and will soon offer a banquet room.

The elegantly decorated restaurant offers the public extended hours from 11 a.m - 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and is open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
The chamber also welcomed Memories on Main Street in Hardy. This unique antique and gift shop offers a bit of nostalgia and hard to find items.
Owners Rick and Susan Wolfe moved to the area from Springdale to be closer to their children. The shop offers Howard products, primitives, furniture, as well as antiques and collectibles.

June 12, members of the chamber welcomed Lynda's Place in Ash Flat. The business offers freshly grown produce, jams and jellies. Owner Lynda Wilkerson and her son Justin plan to open a fresh fish market soon and offer seafood such as shrimp, flounder and crab from the coast and begin selling fresh catfish in the fall.
The business is located at 537 Highway 62/412 in Ash Flat. Lynda's is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and open Sunday and holiday weekends. Lynda's Place also accepts EBT food benefit cards.
The Spring River Chamber of Commerce is proud of these new businesses and looks forward to future growth in the area.

What a breath of fresh air!I welcome all of these new business' and really looking forward to trying The Garlic Rose out and excited about Lynda's Place opening up!The fresh sea food part that is said to be opening soon is EXCELLENT!We're very excited about that one and hope they stock up on alot of different variety goodies for us to choose from!

About time someone put the Frontier Lodge to good use.
Too bad the old restaurant two doors down is still empty - it would be nice to have a little local cafe out there again.
