Rebs/Seminoles pushed back

Wednesday, November 4, 2009
Heavy rains Oct. 29 caused the Highland Rebels' trip to Osceola Oct. 30 to be postponed.

The contest was pushed back to Nov. 2.

In addition to the playing surface at Osceola being a muddy mess due to the influx of rain, Highland was one of the area schools that canceled classes Oct. 30 when the Spring River near Hardy overflowed its banks, causing flooding problems for the area.

The postponement forces the Rebels and Seminoles to play two conference games in four days this week.

Osceola, which leads the 4A-3 conference, closes the regular season Nov. 5 at Pocahontas.

That same evening, Highland has a home game against the Gosnell Pirates.
